My dearest Momma!!
IT HAS BEEN THREE MONTHS!
I love you so much!! So to answer your question the scarf is
amazing!! It is very warm and soft. Sister Smith says thank you! I'm so excited to
Skype with y'all on Christmas! We haven't made any plans yet because we are
waiting on moves call, but to be honest I think both Sister Smith and I will
both stay another transfer here :) We have so much work to do!!
This week was a great week! We just did normal missionary
stuff; finding and teaching! Now that it is December we are able to talk about
Christmas and Christ! People are just a lot nicer around this time of the
year!! It's pretty great!! We had more random people buy us hot chocolate, which
is always a blessing :) hahaha but don't worry they are not total strangers and
it's safe :)
This week I have been reading the war chapters in The Book
of Mormon! It's been so fun to see all the strategies that the captains use and
then trying to apply them to missionary work! Sister Smith also likes to read
the Book of Mormon from a funny point of view and we have found that the book
of Mormon can be very funny!
I can't believe that this week I hit my 3 month mark... it's
crazy! Too fast!!! It feels like just yesterday I was getting on a plane and
leaving America! Now if I hear an American accent I'm in shock because I'm so
used to the Scottish accent!! Oh speaking of America, they don't have
root beer over here :( but John bought Sister Smith and I root beer from amazon
this week and we were able to have root beer floats with him!! It was so fun to
be there when he experienced his first root beer float!
The people here are so kind! We have been offered 6
Christmas dinners already and they are all giving us cards and gifts to help us
feel more at home this Christmas season!! And bonus its actually been warm
this week!! crazy right!?!?! well warm is a relative term but its been not
freezing cold!!! :)
I hope y'all have an amazing December!! Remember the true
meaning of Christmas, give some extra service and eat some pie :) I love you!!!
Sister Kotter :)
I love you daddy!! We actually teach this a lot in our
lessons! It's the first thing we teach our investigators. It's called the Holy
Ghost Principle. What we do is we state that we are messengers of God and
because of this we have the authority and privilege of bringing the holy ghost
with us. We then explain the Holy Ghost: who He is and His purpose and how we
may feel his power and influence. We then promise them that they too can feel
it if they have a sincere heart and real intent. Then we promise them
blessings and then we begin teaching the lesson! It's a bit different than
most missions but it's so cool because the Holy Ghost is there the whole time
and people can feel it before we even start teaching them the first lesson! We
rely so much on the spirit in the mission! It is so cool to see all the
guidance I get! I love you tons!! Thanks for the email and advice it really
means a lot to me!! Love ya!!
Sister Kotter
