| Traveling to a mission conference |
Hello from DUBLIN!!!!!
To answer your questions:
Where are you at?
I'm in the city center of Dublin! (no more
small town East Kilbride) my area name is Phibsborough, but were mostly in the
city center all day everyday!
What ward are you in?
My ward is Finglas ward! They are
amazing! They love missionaries, and doing missionary work! There are also 2
sets of elders in my ward!
How did you travel? Plane or boat?
I traveled by bus and boat! it was like a
mini cruise ship!! :) We left East Kilbride at around 7am, and made it to Glasgow
at 7:30am. Then we hopped on a bus, and had a 2ish hour ride to the coast. then we
hopped on a mini cruise ship aka a ferry, and had about a 2.5 hour boat ride to Belfast. Then back on a bus for another 2ish hour ride to DUBLIN!!! Overall, it
was a LONNNGGGG day of traveling, but it was SO much fun!!!
Who is your new companion?
My new companion is Sister Galvez, she is
from Guatemala, and has been on her mission for about 8 months. She's is 28 years old, and
she is super smart!!! She is the most kind-hearted person I
know!!! I love her to death!!
Are you still as cold as you were in East Kilbride?
It is still super cold, but it rains more
here.... so I'm wet pretty much all day every day :)
Do you have any investigators?
YES!!!! We have sooo many investigators. We had 7 friends at church yesterday, and we hope to have more and more in the
following weeks!
What’s your area like?
My area is a city! I love it!!!! There
are always people on the streets to talk to! All day every day!!! Most of the
people are immigrants, a lot are from South America! (most from Brazil but we're
teaching a few from other places!) So I'm am attempting to learn some Spanish
and Portuguese! We will see how that goes!
How about your apartment?
My apartment is smaller than the one in East Kilbride, but it is still so nice!
What is the most important thing you have learned in these 5 months?
The most important thing I have learned is that there is nothing you can't do with the help of the Lord. I guess I knew that already, but I never had to put it to the test until my mission. It still is so hard to talk to random stranger on the street, and it's hard to give talks, and its hard to work so hard! But when I give it all to the Lord I know I can do everything, and that He will support me, and make up the difference!

Overall, I feel so blessed! I didn't tell y'all, but I
wanted to go to Dublin zone so bad!! Now I am in the city of Dublin!!! ahh
it's been such a good week with lots of laughs and hard work!! We are
teaching people every day, and finding more people, and then teaching more and
finding more!!! It's amazing how blessed I am! I hit the jackpot for areas in
the mission!!!
I want to tell you one story about one of our investigators! His
name is Romel! He is from Bolivia! When we were teaching him the Plan of Salvation he loved it all!!! At the end we asked him what he could do to make
it back to live with Heavenly Father, he said, "I should get baptized, I need to
be baptized, I HAVE to get baptized!" He also said that going to church yesterday
was the best day of his life!! He kept saying muchas gracias muchas gracias! Thank you so much!!! ahh It was amazing!! Needless to say, he has a baptism
date!
I am so excited to be here is Dublin! there is so much potential in the
city, and I am so glad I get to work hard to help these people come closer to
the Savior!!! I am so happy to be among the Irish, and Brazilian, and Mexican,
and Bolivian, and French, and German, and Argentinian, and Romanian, and
African and all the other cultures that are here in Dublin! It has been an
amazing first week and I am so excited to see what this transfer has to hold!!
I LOVE Y'ALL!!!
Sister Kotter :)
Hiya Daddy!!!!
I
love Dublin! I love it so much!! It is so amazing to be here, and to be talking with everyone in the city!!!
So
about your dream,,, it sounds a lot like taken...let's not let that happen :) To
answer you question about the Johnson's yes, he was on a mission tour, and he came and talked to us
:) It was great!
So, with the new schedule we have a lot more agency to pick and
choose when we do things. The only real difference is that we plan in the
morning, and do comp study in a public place during the day. I think that's
so cool because people can over hear our conversations and ask about it!! I love
it!! I sent a bunch of stuff about he new area to mom, but I just want to let you
know how happy I am here in Dublin! I feel like I can work so hard to help
these people! From 10am to 9pm I am working at 100%! (yes I do crash at the end of
the day) but its so great!!! There is no awkward down time like there was before! It's just work, work, work! I am so thankful you, and mom taught me
how to work hard!! :)
I love you so much!!!
Sister Kotter :)
