Week 1

HEYYY MAMA!!!!

First off HAPPPPPYYYY BIRTHDAYYYYYYY

I like seriously LOVEEE the MTC! It is super hard work and we are learning new things every day, but it is so much fun!! The spirit is so strong here! It's just amazing!! I'm so glad my pictures came through!!! I'll be sending them throughout the week as I take them :) |The first week of the MTC went by so slow, and the waking up at 6:30 is awful!!  This place only has air conditioning in  2 rooms, so we have to always keep the windows open. It's nice because we get to have fresh air, but it gets really chilly too!! I just cannot believe I am here right now!! My companion is sister Kim. She actually lived in Heritage Halls room 2204 too!!! Just a different building hahah kinda fun!! We are working well together, and we are becoming better missionaries together. She is Korean, but she speaks perfect English because she grew up in America or overseas in international schools where they teach English. The food here is  AMAZING!! like for real I think I'm going to gain 50 pounds while I'm here!! Oh thanks so much for the package!! (I assume it's from you it didn't have a note telling me who it was from)  I could not eat all the sweets so I shared with my district and they loved it!! They all say thank you too!! My district is literally what is keeping me alive throughout this whole thing!! there are 10 of us and we just spend all day laughing!! It is awesome!! They all have their own personalities that make coming to class great!! We actually have a rock paper scissors tournament going on right now. It sounds lame, but it really gets intense!! My bags came :) So I only had to go one day without them!! I just thought it was so funny how dad said Satan would do something to try to get me to not make it to the MTC. Almost missing my flight was no fun!! My teaching skills are getting better and I'm really feeling comfortable getting out of my shell and talking with investigators. It's funny how the Lord really does bless missionaries to do things that they couldn't do before. One thing that I think is super cool about the MTC is that every one here is from so many different places!! You walk down the halls and there are different accents and languages being spoken around every corner!! It's so cool!! I actually sit at a table at lunch and all 10 of us sisters are from different countries!! It's so cool!!

I hate to admit it, but I don't think about home much. Which is a good thing cause if I did I feel like I'd be super home sick. We are just so busy that I don't even have time to think about home!! Either way you are all still in my prayers and I love you guys to death!!! Keep being my awesome mother!!! 1 week down!! :)

Love your favorite missionary,
 SISTER KOTTER :)

Hey daddy!!!

So I just wrote mom; please put your letters together cause I'm saying different stuff in each :)

That story with Grandma's basement is so funny!! I feel like that kind of stuff only happens to you!!!

Time for me to be honest...I cried the first night as I was falling asleep, but after that I haven't cried since!! Your letter has been an inspiration to me, and I keep it with me wherever I go!! I want to tell you about sister Tuilla (?) I have no clue how to spell her name its French. Anyways, she spoke no English when she got here which you can imagine would be super tough coming to a place where everyone speaks English as the main language. As I have watched her become better in speaking and learning she has become an example to me!! I was actually the first person to pray with her in English, and it was one of the most spiritual experiences I have had! She said a small and simple prayer, but it was so full of gratitude. Daddy, I love the MTC so much!! I will be so sad to leave!! Everything about it here is amazing!! It's sunny everyday, but it also rains every day too which isn't too bad. The views are beautiful!! Waking up at 6:30 every morning is awful! Like literately awful, but, I'm learning to get used to it.

I want to write more but I am for real running out of time!! I may try to send a second e-mail if I have time with more info!! This week has been one of the hardest weeks of my life, but I have already grown so much!! I am really really happy daddy!! Tell everyone I love them!!!

Love ya!!
SISTER KOTTER :)

The Grandma Kotter basement story by Kendal

I'm building a wall for grandma in her basement. Tonight I went over to take some measurements, and while there I noticed a leak in the basement ceiling. I opened the ceiling and got flooded across my head and down my back with nasty sewage water. It was about the grosses thing I have ever done. No matter what you're thinking right now, I promise it was worse!
