How to describe this week... it was the best of times; it was
the worst of times. I finally understand what Charles Dickens means. Another way to describe this week "if you're going through hell keep on
going" say it like you should and then have daddy say it (hail)... both are
a correct term to use :) hahah
| Baptism Day |
This week was awfully hard! We were
being beaten up by Satan at every corner. Since I don't want to focus on
the bad I'll just tell you one story! It was 8:30 on Friday night. We were super
cold as we were chapping (knocking doors) and then we get a phone call from our ward mission leader. He says
"hi sisters Brother S. messed up his back and can't baptize John
tomorrow..." Are you for real?!?!?! It's 8:30 John is supposed to be
baptized in 14 hours and you're saying we don't have anyone to baptize him!?!?!?
was what I was thinking... I may have shed a tear or two, but only two. We then had to scramble to get someone that was going to be there to baptize
him. Thankfully we did!! Elder Thayne was so kind, and baptized him for
us! The service was amazing! The spirit was so strong and everyone was so
happy!! Finally after 14 years John was baptized!! :) I was so happy for
him!! HE DID IT!!! What an amazing feeling! It truly made all those cold
nights and days worth it!
Another small miracle that meant so much to me was one day we
were GQing (street contacting) and it was freezing!! Sister Smith and I were also standing in the
middle of 7 sales people so yeah not the best spot in the world to be! But a guy we had talked to a couple of times the week before came out with two
bowls of soup that he bought for us from Greggs!!! It was amazing! We were able
to then take our lunch break with nice warm soup!! :) God really does care
about his freezing missionaries in East Kilbride :)
I love you guys!! I hope y'all all have an amazing Thanksgiving!! Eat some pie for me :)
Love sister Kotter :)
