Week 60

Hello from Scotland :)

I have to keep telling my self I'm in Scotland! My mind still thinks I'm in Dublin! Everyday I pray saying thank you for letting me serve here in Dub.. I mean Dundee! I try to spend Euros instead of Pounds, and I constantly miss the wonderful Brazilians in Dublin. It has been rough trying to get used to Scotland again, but I will say Scotland is treating me well :) This week we had a baptism of our friend Jessie! It went so smoothly, and he was so happy after wards!! It was definitly the perfect end to a crazy week!! Joe didn't end up getting baptized. He wants to wait a week or two to make sure he's ready. He also had a couple of doubts he needs to work through, so if you could please keep him in your prayers that would be amazing!!

Sister Palmer and I were on exchanges every day this week! That means I never saw my actual companion, but it was great! I always love the spirit that comes from the younger missionaries, and I love being able to help them! I actually think they help me more than I help them, but hey it's still a party every time!!

We also got the opportunity to meet Elder Renlund, and hear him speak twice!! He is incredible! It's amazing how you can totally feel that these men are called of god! He spoke to us a lot on our attitude, and how we need to keep a positive attitude even when we aren't in the best situations in life! Something that really stood out to me was  when he said, “If you do your duty it will be as well with you as though every man has accepted the gospel." I think sometimes we get caught up in wanting to make the out come what we want, but we can't control the out come that really depends on a person's agency! As long as we do our part, and put in out 100% then you can know the Lord will be pleased with you!   It was really great to hear him, and his lovely wife speak... but they did sound really. American!! I decided when I get home I'm going to have to spend some time adjusting to the American accents again!

I am so thankful I have the chance to serve a mission! I'm so thankful I acted on a prompting I received about two years ago! I know Heavenly Father knows what's best for each and everyone of us! Even in the cold nights when people are trying to bash with me, I can still find joy through my Saviour Jesus Christ! I have come to truly know that it is only through Christ that we can find the joy we need in this life!!

I love y'all and I hope you have an amazing week!!! Enjoy Halloween!!!! Eat lots of candy for me! 😊
(jokes I'll be eating better candy than you because the chocolate in the UK is better than it is in America)

Love you!!!

Sister Kotter :)

Dad,

This week was so amazing!! So crazy, but amazing!! So, we only had one of our baptisms go through. Joe postponed for a week or 2 so we will be helping him workout some doubts and fears and then he will be ready for baptism!! Jessie did get baptized though!!! I always love to see Chinese people get baptized!! They are for real so prepared!

Elder Renlund was so cool to hear speak! He is truly an apostle of the Lord, and you can feel it when he talks! I love how he is also just a normal guy too. He was telling funny stories and having fun with us!

This week was crazy, because I was on exchanges every day!! Yesterday was the first day I was able to be with Sister Palmer! It was a bit stressful with Joe backing out of his baptism, and us trying to resolve concerns, but never being in a place where we really could help him... it is okay though and we will be able to give him a lot more attention this week because we only have 2 exchanges!!

I love you tons! I'm super jealous of all the fun trips y'all are making, but I'm sure I'm not missing out too much :) hahah have a great week!!

Sister Kotter :)
